The Grange and Cavendish Country Venues

The Tudor era saw the beginning of impressive country houses built throughout the 16th century. The Tudor period ran through the reign of Henry VII, Henry VIII, and Elizabeth I (Tudor). It began with the end of the war of the roses and ended with the death of Elizabeth and the coming to power of King James I, a Stewart, a Scott, and a Roman Catholic who defied the church and had the Bible written in English. These houses were showplaces for expensive art collection and family portraits. These houses are located on vast country estates surrounded by spectacular gardens. The gardens alone can make a visit to these country houses rewarding.

Deciding upon a wedding venue used to be relatively easy when weddings happened in church. Now the options are unlimited. By getting married at the Grange County House or The Cavendish, one great advantage is having your wedding and reception at the same location. This is advantageous to everyone in the wedding party and your guests because no one needs to travel.
